Kenney – Terry Lee Smith, 67 of Kenney  formerly of Bloomington, IL. died at 7:47 AM Friday January 26, 2018 at his residence.

There will be a graveside service for Terry on Wednesday January 31, 2018 at 11:30 at Blooming Grove Cemetery near Bloomington.  There will be a visitation from 10-11 AM at Beck Memorial Home on Wednesday.

Terry was born January 7, 1951 in Bloomington to Leslie and Mildred Long Smith.  He is survived by Brothers’ Lester Ray Smith of Bloomington, Danny Smith of Bloomington, Sisters: Carol Carmicheal (Smith) of Datsun Lake, Jackie Bentley (Smith) of Florida, Tammy Suddith (Smith) of Sherman, Carmela Smith of Bloomington, Melvina Madlem of Elkhart, IN, his Children, Daughters: Tara Griglione (Smith) of Cherry, IL., Stepchildren,: Joshua Freese of St. Cloud, MN., Samantha Leonard, of Kenney, IL., Grandchildren:, Kelsey Griglione of Las Vegas, NV., Kaylee Griglione of Oglesby, IL., Chase Griglione of Rockford, IL., Great Grandchildren: Great Granddaughter: Leona, Roman of Oglesby, IL. 8 Nephews, and 5 Nieces.    He was preceded in death by Leslie and Mildred Long Smith, Gary Smith (Brother), Shannon Smith (Son) Murdered by 3 police officers of Hudson, Chenoa, Livingston, IL.

Terry cared for his sons dogs after Shannon left this world. Until they all lived their life. He loved them as he did his son. He always said that when all Shannons dogs are gone then his son would call for him. It totally changed his life, he gave up fishing, camping and everything he liked in life, even a better life to spend most of his time with his doggie grandchildren.  Terry worked many years in Hotel Maintenance and did handyman service. Not a day went by that you wouldn't catch Terry and his Stepdaughter Samantha (which to him was a real daughter) not together.
